About the event

WRC is forming a Krewe to march in the Mead Rd. Mardi Gras Parade! Help us hand out WRC swag and make sure our local community knows about its hometown domestic violence resource. Bring signs ("You Deserve 2 B Safe", "Stop Violence Against Women") and your walking shoes. This is a family friendly Mardi Gras event. Kids are welcome! Wear purple to show your support.

Mead Rd. Mardi Gras was started by local Oakhurst residents David and Emily Berg as a way to celebrate Mardi Gras without trekking down to Louisiana.  It began as a house party when their oldest started school, and as the kids got bigger, the party got bigger. It's now a non-profit community wide celebration that raises money to support music and arts education in the Decatur City Schools.
